28 January 2016 (Thursday) – Several representatives from the Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) Faculty of Science, Technology and Human Development (FSTPi) today paid a visit to Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) to propose and discuss collaborative activities.
The purpose of the visit was also to present the university’s official letter of reappointment of the FRIM Director General (DG), Dato’ Dr Abd Latif Mohmod, as the UTHM Adjunct Professor.
The group consisted of the Faculty Department Head, Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohd Fadzelly Abu Bakar; FSTPi Panel Head, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alona C. Linatoc; Heritage Technology Department Senior Lecturer Dr Faridah Karmin and student, Nur Amalina Ismail.
They were greeted by the FRIM officials including the DG who gave them a briefing at the Hopea Meeting Room. Also present were FRIM Corporate Communication Unit (CCU) Head Norhayati Nordin, Public Relations Officer Maria Arlene Jackan and representatives from the FRIM Human Capital Development Branch and the DG Office.
The group later visited the FRIM Herbal Technology Centre (HTC) where they were guided by the HTC Programme Head Zamree Md Shah, who briefed them on the HTC facilities and services.
