16 December 2016 (Friday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Director General (DG) Dato’ Dr Abd Latif Mohmod received the Anugerah Perdana Research and Development (R&D) Icon 2016 award from the National Book Development Foundation (YPBN) yesterday. Malaysia wins CHM Gold Award

SPF Mata Ayer receives occupational safety award

18 October 2016 (Tuesday) – The Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Research Station in Mata Ayer (SPF Mata Ayer) has received an award for excellence in occupational safety and health for the public sector category from the Perlis State Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) recently. E-PaWV project wins International Awards

5 September 2016 (Monday) - The Forest Research Institute Malaysia's (FRIM) Engineered Palm Wood Veneer (E-PaWV) Project team took home two awards from the International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada (iCAN2016) held in Toronto on 27 August. The iCAN awards and certificates. The innovation developed the team, 'E-PaWV for Seating Component' clinched the iCAN Gold Award as well as the iCAN Best Invention of Asia Award. It was one of the 211 entries to this competition from 36 countries. FRIM fellow receives Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh Medal

14 July 2016 (Thursday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Research Fellow Dr Saw Leng Guan was awarded the prestigious Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE) Medal on 11 July for his excellence as a taxonomist, his contribution to the understanding of Malaysian biodiversity and his key role in conservation initiatives over 30 years. FRIM gets Special Security Protection Award 2014

8 March 2016 (Tuesday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) received a four-star (good) rating in the Special Security Protection Award 2014, organised by the Chief Government Security Office of the Prime Minister’s Department. The award presentation ceremony was officiated by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa at the Perdana Putra Building in Putrajaya on 4 January.
