FRIM gets two more MBR certs

24 June 2020 (Wednesday) – Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) has presented two new MBR certificates for Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) to Director General Datuk Dr Abd Latif Mohmod yesterday. The certificates for the new records, namely the ‘First to Establish Tongkat Ali Hairy Root Culture in the Bioreactor’ and ‘Most Number of Sub-Ethnic Orang Asli Traditional Knowledge (TK) Documented on Medicinal & Aromatic Plants’ were presented by MBR Director of Business, Jwan Heah Yeow Hooi. FRIM wins five silver medals at MTE 2020

2 March 2020 (Monday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) won five silver medals at the 19th Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE), and also in conjunction with 'The Malaysia-Croatia Technology Exchange 2020', four of the FRIM innovations contested in the 'Invention & Innovation Awards' category received 'International Award of Merit'. FRIM wins top prizes at Selangor R,D&I Expo

14 October 2019 (Monday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) bagged two major prizes at the Selangor Research, Development and Innovation (R,D&I) Expo on 10–13 October. FRIM’s innovation projects took top prizes of the R&D Competition and Pitching Competition at the expo held in Kuala Lumpur. FRIM wins JIPA award, gold and silver medals at ITEX’19

Xylarium FRIM – biggest, oldest wood library in M’sia

31 May 2018 (Thursday) - Xylarium Kepong (KEPw) at Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), which was established in 1918 with a collection of 10,036 wood specimens, has been recognised by Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) in 2012 as being the largest and oldest wood collection in the country. Just like a library for books and a herbarium for a collection of plant specimens, xylarium is a collection centre for wood specimens. FRIM receives financial management excellence award

5 March 2018 (Monday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) recently received the Financial Management Five Star Rating Excellence Award Based on Accountability Index (Anugerah Kecemerlangan Penarafan Lima Bintang Pengurusan Kewangan Berdasarkan Indeks Akauntabiliti) for 2016 from the National Audit Department. FRIM receives MPSepang appreciation award

4 December 2017 (Monday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) received an appreciation award from the Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) recently for contributing to the implementation of Smart City@Sepang and Low Carbon City Initiative. The appreciation certificate and plaque were presented by YB Elizabeth Wong, Chairperson for the Selangor State Committee on Tourism, Environment, Green Technology, to FRIM Biomass Technology Programme Head Dr Wan Asma Ibrahim.
