FRIM to cease issuance of jogger pass, car sticker from 2021

21 October 2020 (Wednesday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) will stop the issuance of annual recreational passes as well as car stickers for joggers/visitors and only accept cashless payment starting 2021. From 21 August to 20 September this year, FRIM refunded a number of joggers for their 2020 annual recreational pass after receiving many complaints over its decision to close the main campus from18 March until this year-end. FRIM organises basic bryophyte identification course

9 October 2020 (Friday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) organised a Basic Bryophyte Identification Course on 15 September attended by 18 FRIM Herbarium staff to enhance their knowledge on bryophytes and the ability to identify them. Bryophyte, commonly known as moss, is a non-vascular, epiphytic, non-flowering plant and produces spores that are usually wind-dispersed. It is often used as a bio indicator due to its sensitivity to changes in environmental conditions, such as ambient temperature and humidity and it is often found in unpolluted areas. 28 August 2020 (Friday) - The retirement and e-jari ceremony of Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Director General (DG) Datuk Dr Abd Latif Mohmod and Finance Director Mohd Zamshari Abd. Rahman was held at the FRIM Administration Building this afternoon. They delivered their final speeches before handing over their tasks to their successors. 24 June 2020 (Wednesday) – Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) has presented two new MBR certificates for Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) to Director General Datuk Dr Abd Latif Mohmod yesterday. FRIM, JPNP collaborate in tropical forest research

14 February 2020 (Friday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Pahang State Government which was represented by the Pahang Forestry Department (JPNP) to collaborate in research and education at the Tropical Forest Research Centre Pahang. FRIM facilities closed for Chinese New Year

22 January 2020 (Wednesday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Research Gallery, Facility Unit and the Visitor Information Centre (VIC) on 25–27 January in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.   The FRIM campus including jogging tracks, paved roads, picnic area and Kepong Botanic Gardens will remain open for joggers and other visitors. The campus is open from 6.00am to 7.00pm, with the last entry at 6.30pm. The bicycle rental services will also be available from 8.00am to 5.00pm.
