FRIM to work with FDPM on seed research

2 March 2016 (Wednesday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Forestry Department of Peninsular Malaysia (FDPM) yesterday to collaborate in determining the quality of plant materials for the Lentang Seed Centre in Pahang.

The agreement was signed by the Director General (DG), Dato’ Dr Abd Latif Mohmod, and witnessed by the Research Planning Division Director, Dato’ Dr Marzalina Mansor, on behalf of FRIM. FDPM was represented by its DG, Dato’ Sri Dr Abd Rahman Abd Rahim and the Forest Plantation and Protection Division Director, Dato’ Lim Kee Leng, as the witness.

Also present were Dato’ Sri Zoal Azha Yusof, Chairman of the Malaysian Forestry Research and Development Board (MFRDB); Dato’ Nor Akhirrudin Mahmud, FDPM Forestry Deputy DG (Policy and Planning); Borhanudin Arshad, FDPM Forestry Deputy DG (Operations and Technical); other MFRDB members and FRIM Seed Technology Laboratory staff.
