5 April 2022 (Tuesday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has received the Gold Award Winner of International Innovation Awards (IIA) category for Nature Inspired Germ Buster and Silver Award Winner of Public Service Innovation Award (PSIA) category for Herbal Industry Value Chain System (Herba Xpress) at the Malaysia Technology Expo 2022 (MTE 2022). The MTE was held on March 21-25 virtually and the results of the competition were announced on 25 March. FRIM plants trees, celebrates International Day of Forest

21 March 2022 (Monday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has conducted tree-planting activities at several locations at its campus in Kepong in conjunction with the International Day of Forests (IDF), this morning. FRIM Director General (DG) Dr Ismail Parlan, Deputy DG (Operations) Dr Noor Azlin Yahya, division directors and representatives have planted 51 trees at Field 30. The number of trees for planting was decided in accordance with the 51st year anniversary of the declaration of 21 March as the World Forestry Day by FAO in 1971. FRIM soil scientist receives Outstanding Woman Researcher Award

9 March 2022 (Wednesday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) soil scientist Dr Jeyanny Vijayanathan has received the Outstanding Woman Researcher Award conferred by the Venus International Foundation for the Soil Fertility category under the discipline of Agricultural Sciences on 5 March 2022 in India. Jeyanny delivering her keynote presentation. FRIM evaluates research projects

28 February 2022 (Monday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has organised ‘Project Evaluation and Monitoring (PEM) Seminar 2020-2021’ on 22-23 February to evaluate and monitor research projects as well as provide researchers with the opportunity to share their findings with fellow colleagues. The seminar themed, ‘FRIM R&D: Addressing Future Challenges’, was organised by FRIM Research Planning Division and launched  by FRIM Director General Dr Ismail Parlan. A total of 19 oral presentations, 18 montages and 34 posters were delivered during the seminar. FRIM DG launches the Occupational Safety and Health Policy

17 January 2022 (Monday) - The Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Director General (DG), Dr Ismail Parlan launched the Institute’s Occupational Safety and Health Policy at the first FRIM Monthly Assembly this morning. This policy aims to ensure that safety and health aspects be implemented effectively and efficiently to create a safe and healthy work environment. FRIM increases Forest Skywalk tickets starting 2022

31 December 2021 (Friday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) will increase the number of tickets for the Forest Skywalk from 20 to 40 per slot starting 1 January 2022. FRIM organises tree planting to celebrate 36th anniversary

20 October 2021 (Wednesday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) conducted a tree planting programme in conjunction with the institute’s 36th anniversary celebration this month at its main campus as well as at its research station (SPF), apart from organising a number of other activities. From 1 October, over 1,700 trees of various species have been planted at FRIM, Kepong as well as at 10 research stations and the tree planting activities will be intensified. FRIM is declared a ‘National’ Heritage

10 May 2012 (Monday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has been declared today as a National Heritage by the Minister of Information, Communication and Culture, Dato’ Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim, at the National Heritage Declaration Ceremony 2012 held in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
