23 August 2018 (Thursday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) had organised a ‘Cyber Security Awareness Programme’ on 14 August at the FRIM Auditorium to promote safer use of the internet and raise the awareness on the safety issues.
The programme was held as one of the activities held in conjunction with ‘Technical Services Division Open Day’. Several presentations were delivered at the programme, namely:
- Ethics of FRIM Cloud Usage by Maizura Ishak, FRIM Information Technology Branch;
- Cyber Crime (Inspector Mohd Razmil Razak, Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM);
- Self control in Social Media (Mohd Saufi Sujono, Communications and Multimedia Content Forum of Malaysia (CMCF); and
- Cyber Security: Cloud Storage Management (Marsineh Jarmin, National Institute of Public Administration (INTAN)).

FRIM Deputy Director General (Operations) Dr Khali Aziz Hamzah officiated the open day by launching the ‘Auditorium Building Safety Infographic Video’. Also present, the division Director Norhayati Nordin.
Library Branch conducted Library Knowledge-cultivating Programme (Santai@LIB) to introduce the functions and services of the library. FRIM staff as well as 80 students and 16 teachers from four invited schools participated in LIB Clinic as well as some interesting games and contests.
Publication Branch (CPN) also promoted their services and distributed several FRIM publications for free.
