FRIM retains ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation

29 June 2018 (Friday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has successfully retained the ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation following a surveillance audit conducted from 26 to 28 June.

Department of Standards Malaysia (STANDARDS MALAYSIA) auditors, namely Tan Kim Ho, Wong Siew Kwan dan Woo Seng Khee conducted the audit on laboratories related to mechanical and physical testing on 26–27 June; while Tan Kim Ho, Prof. Dr Son Radu dan Sim Ah Bah focused on facilities related to microbiological and biological testing on 28 June.

FRIM Deputy Director General (Research) Dr Ismail Harun, Quality Management Unit Head Dr Sharmiza Adnan and laboratory representatives attended the audit opening.

The findings were presented at the audit closing meeting and laboratories concerned were requested to take quality improvement measures within a stipulated time frame.
