18 November 2022 (Friday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) showcased its commercalisation efforts and achievements in forest-related economic development on the FRIM Commercialisation Day 2022 (HFK 2022) at the FRIM Auditorium in Kepong yesterday.
HKF 2022, held at the FRIM Auditorium, was in line with the efforts of FRIM and industries as well as stakeholders to mainstream product commercialisation, technology packages, expertise and technical services and accreditation to empower local industries.
The event was officiated by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources Deputy Secretary General (Natural Resources), Abdul Wahid Abu Salim. Also present, FRIM Director General (DG) Dr Ismail Parlan, Deputy DG (Operations) Dr Noor Azlin Yahya, Deputy DG (Research) Dr Norwati Muhammad, Innovation and Commercialisation Director Mahmudin Saleh; and FRIM Incorporated (FRIM Inc.) Chief Executive Officer Wan Jusaini Rizal Wan Nasruddin.
The programme, jointly organised with FRIM Inc., was attended by 284 participants including representatives of government and private agencies, businessmen as well company representatives from the herbs, biotechnology and forest plantation industries, environmentally friendly biomass dan forest resourses-based industries.
In conjunction with the event, FRIM also held a commercial document exchange ceremony with Nature Profusion Sdn Bhd, Koperasi Peserta-Peserta Rancangan FELCRA Gugusan Bayal Jempol Berhad, FRIM Inc and International Agroforest Resources.
FRIM also handed over the Product Certification Module for Environmentally-Friendly Paper Printing developed by its experts to Next Green Global Berhad.
Ismail also presented certificates to the 2022 FRIM Commercialisation Appreciation Award recipients for their achievements and contributions in enhancing FRIM’s commercialisation efforts.
Other activities held throughout HKF 2022 were:
- Technology Commercialisation Forum Session,
- Exhibitions by 20 agencies, companies and FRIM representatives, and
- Food Truck & Carboot sale.
