FRIM conducts taxidermy course

24 July 2018 (Tuesday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Zoological Branch (ZOO) has conducted a Taxidermy Course for 16 of its staff on July 16. The course conducted by the branch head, Mohammad Shahfiz Azman, aimed at sharing knowledge and enhancing the skills of participants in taxidermy field. Mohamad Shahfiz described the background, techniques and functions of taxidermy at the introductory session. FRIM holds dialogue with furniture industry representatives

16 July 2018 (Monday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has organised a ‘Dialogue with Furniture Industry and Stakeholders’ on 11 July at the FRIM Auditorium, Kepong. The dialogue, conducted by FRIM Product Certification Services (FRIM PCS), was launched by FRIM Director General (DG) Dato’ Dr Abd Latif Mohmod and attended by over 100 furniture industry representatives. FRIM organises seminar on traditional knowledge

9 July 2018 (Monday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has organised a ‘Seminar Pemuliharaan & Pemerkasaan Pengetahuan Tradisi 2018’ at the FRIM campus, Kepong on 3 July. The seminar themed, 'A decade of sustaining traditional knowledge legacy', aimed at sharing the current status of traditional knowledge project, experiences as well as opinions with other researchers, implementing agencies and the Orang Aslicommunity. This seminar was also held to promote the awareness to ensure the sharing of benefits in traditional knowledge applications. Elizabeth Wong joins FRIM’s gotong-royong with Community Friends

5 July 2018 (Thursday) - Bukit Lanjan State Assemblyman Elizabeth Wong Keat Ping has participated in the Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Gotong-royongwith Community Friends held at Taman Warisan FRIM (FRIM Heritage Park) this morning. Over 100 FRIM staff and Community Friends including representatives from nearby communities joined the programme. The aim of the event was to increase public awareness on the importance of conserving natural heritage as well as promote support fro FRIM’s efforts to attain the UNESCO World Heritage Site status.
