23 August 2018 (Thursday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) had organised a ‘Cyber Security Awareness Programme’ on 14 August at the FRIM Auditorium to promote safer use of the internet and raise the awareness on the safety issues. The programme was held as one of the activities held in conjunction with ‘Technical Services Division Open Day’. 20 August 2018 (Monday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Facility Unit, Research Gallery and Visitor Information Centre (VIC) will be closed on 22 August (Wednesday), in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha. The FRIM campus including jogging tracks, picnic area and Kepong Botanic Gardens remain open as usual. The campus is open from 5.30am to 7.30pm, with the last entry at 6.30pm. 13 March 2018 (Tuesday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) and Golden Pharos Berhad (GPB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate in research and development as well as in sufficient supply of raw materials, especially for the FRIM Product Certification Services Programme (FRIM PCS). 30 July 2018 (Monday) – A fig tree (Ficus binnendijkii) laden with fruits in front of the D4 building in Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has attracted many species of birds recently. FRIM Zoological Branch (ZOO) researchers conducted a bird watching activity on 26 July. They identified and recorded over 10 species, namely asian glossy starling (Aplonis panayensis), greater green leafbird (Chloropsis sonnerati) and yellow vented bulbul (Pycnonotus goiavier).
