FRIM-JWN-JPBD organise Selangor heritage sites conference

19 November 2018 (Monday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), National Heritage Department (JWN) and the Selangor Town and Country Planning Department (JPBD) have co-organised 2018 Selangor Heritage Sites Conference on 14 and 15 November in Shah Alam. FRIM organises Rafflesia seminar

14 November 2018 (Wednesday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has organised 2018 Rafflesia in Malaysia Seminar, themed 'Rafflesia Research Status: a Perspective' at the FRIM Auditorium yesterday. The aim of this seminar, the first of its kind ever organised, was to share information on research and development (R&D), scientific findings, technology and conservation on Rafflesia in Malaysia. 12 November 2018 (Monday) – Encouraged by the recent budget announcement and government support, Forest Research Institute Malaya (FRIM) is stepping up efforts in its pursuit of the UNESCO World Heritage Site (WHS) status. “The budget reflects the government’s seriousness in conserving the country’s forests and its support for FRIM’s effort to attain the UNESCO WHS status by 2020. FRIM researcher gets Japan international award

7 November 2018 (Wednesday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) researcher Dr Farah Fazwa Md Ariff received the prestigious 2018 Japan International Award for Young Agricultural Researchers at the United Nations University Tokyo, Japan yesterday. Farah Fazwa, who heads the FRIM Herbs and Trees Improvement Branch, was chosen for her innovative and beneficial research in the production of high quality planting materials of important herbal species in Malaysia, Labisia pumila (kacip fatimah). FRIM JTFS receives CREAM 2018 certificate

29 October 2018 (Monday) - Journal of Tropical Forest Science (JTFS), published by Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM), received the 2018 Publishing Encouragement Scheme (CREAM) Award for the category of High Impact Indexed Journal in Web of Science on 25 October. FRIM Director General (DG) Dato' Dr Abd Latif Mohmod received the certificate from the Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) Higher Education DG, Datin Paduka Ir Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir, at the Malaysia’s Research Star Award (MRSA) and 2018 CREAM Journal Recognition ceremony organised by the MOE Higher Education Department through the Malaysian Citation Centre.
