16 June 2023 (Friday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) held the FRIM 2022 Award Ceremony and ‘Jasamu Dikenang’ Ceremony last night to celebrate FRIM staff who have shown excellent work performance throughout the year 2022 as well as to celebrate the retirement of FRIM retirees and those about to retiree. Soil scientist receives FRIM’s 46th MBR

14 April 2023 (Friday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) soil scientist Dr V. Jeyanny Vijayanathan received recognition from the Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) for being the ‘First Malaysian soil scientist to be selected as panel for Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Intergovernmental Technical Panel of Soils (ITPS)’. This is the 46th MBR record for FRIM. The MBR certificate was presented by MBR Senior Record Consultant Siti Hajar Johor at the MBR headquarter in Kuala Lumpur this morning. FRIM wins 2 golds, 2 silvers at MTE 2023

20 March 2023 (Monday) –Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has won two gold medals and two silver medals for the International Innovation Awards (IIA) category and a Special Award from the International Federation of Inventors' Associations (IFIA) for Best Invention Medal at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2023 on 16-18 March. MTE 2023, held in Kuala Lumpur, was attended by participants from 13 countries including Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Poland, Iran, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Azerbaijan, France, Singapore and China. FRIM researcher receives Outstanding Young Chemist Award

5 December 2022 (Monday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Researcher ChM Dr Mohamad Nasir Mat Arip has received the Malaysian Institute of Chemistry (IKM) Outstanding Young Chemist Award 2022 (Industry) for his contribution in the field of advanced wood preservation technology. He received the award from IKM President Datuk ChM Dr Soon Ting Kueh at the 2022 Chemistry Night ceremony held in Petaling Jaya on 2 December. Mohamad Nasir was the Wood Preservative Analytical Laboratory (MAAK) Head before being appointed as the FRIM Research Policy and Planning Branch Head, a position he holds today. FRIM wins two awards at SRIE2022

11 October 2022 (Tuesday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has won two awards at the Selangor Research, Development and Innovation Expo (SRIE2022) on 6-9 October in Kuala Lumpur. SRIE2022 received 1,000 entries for the R&D Award of which only 58 were shortlisted according to the required quality. Four FRIM inventions were shortlisted, three inventions in the biotechnology clusters and one in applied physics and chemistry cluster. FRIM scientist receives Top Research Scientist Award

21 September 2022 (Wednesday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) forest genetic expert, Dr Lee Soon Leong, received the Top Research Scientists Malaysia (TRSM) award from the Academy of Sciences Malaysia (ASM) this year. He received the TRSM certificate from Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Dato' Sri Dr Adham Baba at the certificate presentation ceremony of 2022 TRSM, held in Kuala Lumpur yesterday, along with 28 others scientists. FRIM records some achievements at seminars/conferences

5 July 2021 (Monday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has recorded several outstanding achievements at seminars/conferences conducted virtually as an adaptation to new normal. The Forest Products Division research team led by Nur Areisman Mohd Salleh won a Silver medal at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2021 for the innovation of ‘Biodegradable Face Mask from Lignocellulosic Materials and Nanofibers’. 22 April 2021 (Thursday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) held the FRIM 2020 Awards Ceremony and ‘Jasamu Dikenang‘ Ceremony on 8 April to celebrate outstanding staff for their achievements in various fields as well as to honour retirees and those about to retire for their service and contributions. FRIM sets another MBR, for Malay TK project

20 April 2021 (Tuesday) - The Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) has presented another new record certificate for Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) to Director General (DG) Dr Khali Aziz Hamzah yesterday, this time for ‘Most number of Malay Traditional Practitioners interviewed for Traditional Knowledge (TK) on Medicinal Plants’. The records is for the project ‘Pendokumentasian Secara Komprehensif Pengetahuan Tradisi Melayu berkaitan Tumbuhan Ubatan di Semenanjung Malaysia’, funded by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAFI). 24 June 2020 (Wednesday) – Malaysia Book of Records (MBR) has presented two new MBR certificates for Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) to Director General Datuk Dr Abd Latif Mohmod yesterday.
