FRIM to organise 2018 FRIM DG Cup Bowling Tournament

12 September 2018 (Wednesday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) will organise 2018 FRIM Director General Bowling Tournament on 6–7 October (Saturday and Sunday) at Ampang Superbowl Bangi Gateway, Bandar Baru Bangi. The tournament is organised by FRIM Club in appreciation of the FRIM Director General (DG) Dato' Dr Abd Latif Mohmod’s contribution in driving FRIM to become a leading forest research and development institution in the region. 28 August 2018 (Tuesday) – In conjunction with the National Month, Forest Research Institute Malayasia (FRIM) has organised a Monthly Assembly and Patriotic Run yesterday to commemorate the historical moment of the country’s declaration of independence leading to the formation of Malaysia. FRIM organises Cyber Security Awareness Programme

23 August 2018 (Thursday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) had organised a ‘Cyber Security Awareness Programme’ on 14 August at the FRIM Auditorium to promote safer use of the internet and raise the awareness on the safety issues. FRIM facilities closed for Hari Raya Aidiladha

20 August 2018 (Monday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Facility Unit, Research Gallery and Visitor Information Centre (VIC) will be closed on 22 August (Wednesday), in conjunction with the Hari Raya Aidiladha. The FRIM campus including jogging tracks, picnic area and Kepong Botanic Gardens remain open as usual. The campus is open from 5.30am to 7.30pm, with the last entry at 6.30pm. FRIM hosts MAKSAK Orienteering Challenge

7 August 2018 (Tuesday) – Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) had hosted Orienteering Challenge of the Malaysian Civil Service Sports and Welfare Council (MAKSAK Malaysia) at the FRIM campus, Kepong on 4 August. Fruiting fig – attracts birds

30 July 2018 (Monday) – A fig tree (Ficus binnendijkii) laden with fruits in front of the D4 building in Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) has attracted many species of birds recently. FRIM Zoological Branch (ZOO) researchers conducted a bird watching activity on 26 July. FRIM conducts taxidermy course

24 July 2018 (Tuesday) - Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) Zoological Branch (ZOO) has conducted a Taxidermy Course for 16 of its staff on July 16. The course conducted by the branch head, Mohammad Shahfiz Azman, aimed at sharing knowledge and enhancing the skills of participants in taxidermy field. Mohamad Shahfiz described the background, techniques and functions of taxidermy at the introductory session.
